Welcome to The Friends of Errington Wood site. Please look through the pages, find out who we are and what we do. There is also an abridged history of the area. We have now added a woodland walks section. This will build over time, and eventually include maps. Feel free to comment on the site, or on our work. If you would like to find out more, or to join us on our work days, then please contact us and someone will get back to you.
Now, browse the pages and enjoy.

Guided Walk
Saturday, 19th may at 1.00pm from the car park.
Simon Chapman will be leading a walk in Errington Wood looking at the mining remains.
The walk is for the benefit of the Cleveland Industrial Archaeology Society, but all are welcome to come along.

Next Work Day
Friday 18th May.
Meet Pontac Rd 9.00am.  Same as last week. Perhaps the rain might let us get some work done in here this week.
There is some crown lifting required in an area to the North of the middle path. This is where we have been for the last 2 weeks. Some decent oaks grow in here. We shall look at ways to encourage them.

Apprentice visit.
On Friday 12th April we had the Redcar & Cleveland apprentices visit us. To see what the day entailed, go to the apprentice day page.

Parish magazine
Look on the Woodland Happenings page to see the latest article (May) that has been produced for New Marske parish magazine.

Time Team
Time team have been in touch with us regarding the possibility of looking at the mining history. Watch this space for any development.

Have a look at our latest page, Woodland happenings. It's all about interesting things that are happening in the wood. Not always to do with the work of the Friends.
